Enrichment for my Cat

eight ideas to keep your feline friend entertained:

We all know how much cats love to nap, but did you know that they also need stimulation and exercise to keep them happy and healthy? Enriching activities can help prevent unwanted behaviors like scratching, spraying, and aggression. So, for all the cat owners out there, here are some fun ideas to help keep your feline friend entertained:

  1. 🐱 Provide horizontal and vertical scratch posts. Cats need to scratch to maintain their claws and stretch their muscles, so make sure you give them plenty of options.

  2. 🐱Mix up the textures. Cats love different surfaces, so try providing hard door mats, soft bath mats, and crinkled paper.

  3. 🐱 Create hiding spots. Cats love to hide, so consider leaving out some tunnels or boxes for them to explore and play in.

  4. 🐱 Use cat pheromones. You can spray some cat pheromones on their bedding to help them feel safe and secure.

  5. 🐱 Take your cat for a walk. Yes, cats can be trained to walk on a leash! It's a great way to get them some exercise and fresh air.

  6. 🐱 Make feeding time fun. Hide treats in cardboard tubes, yogurt tubs, or paper bags to encourage foraging and stimulate their natural instincts.

  7. 🐱 Groom your cat. Try using a soft toothbrush (that you have purchased specifically for the purpose) to groom around their head and face. I guarantee your cat will be in bliss. Grooming not only helps with their physical health but also strengthens the bond between you and your feline friend.

  8. 🐱 Try some training. Cats are intelligent creatures and can be trained to do tricks like sit, shake, high-five and even fetch!

Don't forget, every cat is unique, so try out different activities and see what your furry friend enjoys the most. And of course, have fun!

💚 P.S. Check out one of our beautiful pet clients Bear the Ragdoll, he loves these activities too!
