Dog Walkers / Pet Sitters

Happy Hounds is growing our awesome team of Dog Walkers and Pet Sitters! If you’re a go-getter who loves the outdoors, enjoys being active at work, likes exploring new neighbourhoods and of course, loves everything related to animals, we’d love to hear from you.

    • Dog Walking: 30 to 60 minute dog walks in the dog’s neighbourhood, the beach or the park. Up to two dogs maximum.

    • Pet Sitting: Daily 30 to 60 minute visits to the client’s
      homes to care for their dogs, cats or small animals.

    • House Sitting - Overnight stays in client’s homes for
      one or multiple nights. This is a must and something you must be comfortable doing.

    • Casual, part-time or full-time hours available.

    • Police check

    • You are 18+

    • Drivers licence and access to own vehicle (a must!)!

    • Mobile phone and data plan

    • Previous experience with animals and animal behaviour/handling knowledge (preferred, not essential)

    • Pet first aid certification (can be completed in your
      first week of work with us)

    • Available relatively flexible hours throughout the week and weekend, including some public holidays and can cater to some last-minute work.

    • Local to Brisbane or the Gold Coast

    • You love animals above all else!

    • You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - the ability to effectively
      communicate with your team, and clients.

    • You enjoy the variety of working in different locations and don't mind traveling to get to each dog walking or pet sitting job.

    • You are reliable and trustworthy - clients rely on us to care for their pets and stick to the time agreed upon - that means no last-minute cancellations!

    • You are able to work independently and use initiative and decision-making skills to resolve problems quickly and efficiently.

    • You have a good level of fitness.

    • You are friendly, approachable and love dealing with the families of the pets under their care.

    • Okay with irregular working hours that change week to week. Suitable to someone with a flexible schedule, who may have other uni or work commitments that they can work alongside.

    • Minimum 7 hours per week
